Every medium in the 20th Century has been called revolutionary, including the telephone, radio, television, cable, satellite, and wireless communications. But the Internet has grown more rapidly than any of these mediums. It took 38 years for the telephone to reach 30% of households; television took 17 years; personal computers took 13 years. The World Wide Web has taken less than 7 years to reach that 30% penetration level.
